Lurline's Dance Card

Once upon a time dance cards were considered proper for ladies to carry at dances.  The men who wished to dance with the lady would write their names on the dance card and would then be assured of that dance.

The following is my Great-Grandmother, Lurline Hewit Harper's

dance card from a dance she attended.

Click here to see the actual dance card!

Many thanks to Taylor Sullivan for all her help.

Taylor is Lurline Hewitt Harper's great-great-great-granddaughter!

Taylor's grandmother, Mari Byers, was struggling to read the writing on the dance card

and Taylor said "GrandMari...why don't you magnify it?"
